What is this community about? Writing Hanfic of course! And using chat room sprints to help further along your story.
Can anyone join? Definitely! This is not a moderated community. Please feel free to let us know what you think about it.
What is a sprint? Basically, a group of writers get together in a chat (in this case on AIM) and for 15 (or however long the one in charge decides to make it) minutes to write without stopping to edit or reread. After the 15 minutes are up, you take a 15 minute break before sprinting again. The goal is to try not to backspace/edit as much as you can to amp up your word count, then go back and edit your text later. Point being, all we do is WRITE WRITE WRITE for several hours at a time!
And this is supposed to help me? Sounds tedious. Well it is, but we do it to get you back into the mood of writing and motivate you every time you hit your word count or target goal!
So, how do I join in on the sprints? Just click here and it will give detailed instructions on how to access AIM chat rooms. Our chat room name is always "Hanfic Sprints".
When I get into "Hanfic Sprints" what can I expect? To be motivated and inspired by other Hanfic writers as well as get a lot of work done on any project you're currently having trouble updating. BUT, as always there are rules to the game: 1. There is a set moderator that tells you when it's time to sprint/write and when it's time to chit chat. 2. There is NO talking/messaging while we sprint. 3. The mod decides how long each sprint and each break will be. 4. Be respectful to others in the chat room as well as the community. 5. Try to only work on Hanfic because that is the reason we are together, but if you have nothing to update, you may work on something else. 6. If you have any major problems or issues, take it up w/ one of the mods personally via LJ message not on here or another public area. We'll assist you in any way we can. 7. Being disrespectful, hateful, or rude to the hosts or any other member of the community will get you instantly banned. If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all. 8. We've changed some of the schedules to accommodate all time zones, but if you can't make it to any of the sprints & desperately want to we recommend and strongly encourage you to start/host your own sprint session. 9. If you're interested in being a host, definitely let us know and we will add you to our list. 10. Our community is open to everyone, but we are now moderating memberships. Once your membership has been approved you will be free to comment/post/join us for some awesome Hanfic writing fun! 11. Due to recent "spam" type events we are currently only accepting people who have had their journals/accounts for 6 months or longer + 15 or more entries. If you recently made one sorry, but we must maintain the safety of our community.
JUST TRY IT! WE GUARANTEE THIS WILL HELP YOU GET TO WRITING IN NO TIME! ;-)
